James R. Griffith, Jr., P.E.

James “Jim” Griffith is a Senior Fire Protection Engineer for Waxler Fire Protection Engineering. He brings more than 25 years of engineering expertise to the company and has a wide range of professional and managerial responsibilities at WFPE. He provides specialized fire protection solutions for projects involving hazardous materials and processes such as refinery/petrochemical operations and the production and bulk storage of distilled spirits.

Jim has extensive experience in conducting large-scale fire testing programs for construction, offshore, petrochemical, and nuclear industries and various government agencies. Jim is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and the Texas Fire Protection Association (TFPA).

Jim studied Mechanical Engineering and Business at Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at San Antonio and received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UTSA in 1987. Jim is married with adult children and has multiple grandchildren. He enjoys high adventure trekking with Scouts BSA, flying with Aviation Explorers, SCUBA diving, outdoor cooking, and spending time with family.
